Merino Wool
We like to say Merino wool is “nature’s activewear fiber”. Merino wool is naturally stretchy, temperature regulating, and odor resistant. This makes it a perfect choice for clothes that have to stand up to the rigors of exercise. We source our Merino wool from OEKO-TEX certified fabric mills - ensuring our Merino wool is high quality & non-toxic. Currently, we're also in the process of reorganizing our supply chain to ensure our Merino wool is 100% organic and GOTS certified by approximately July of 2025. FAQ
Why does Ryker use natural fibers?
99% of activewear is made entirely of plastic-based, synthetic fabrics. These fabrics often contain harmful chemicals and can shed a substantial amounts of microplastics with every wear & wash. By using natural fabrics that are sourced from partners who hold GOTS & OEKO-TEX certifications, you're reducing your exposure to toxic chemicals commonly found in conventional activewear.
Do you use fabrics from suppliers that are certified non-toxic by third-party organizations?
Yes, we source from dye houses & fabric mills that have third-party certifications like OEKO-TEX - helping to ensure that the materials we use meet rigorous safety standards.
Do you use any synthetic, plastic-based fabrics like polyester or nylon?
No, we specifically avoid synthetic plastic-based fabrics. Right now, some of our trims (like sewing threads) are still synthetic to ensure the product holds up the rigors of exercise. But we're currently in the process of pursuing other alternatives (such as threads made of TENCEL lyocell). We believe the more natural we can make our product, the better.
Are your dyes non-toxic?
Yes - our dye houses are OEKO-TEX certified, ensuring our dyes don't use common toxic chemicals found in many traditional apparel dyes.
