WHY WE STARTED
HE WAS TIRED OF TOXIC. SO HE BUILT SOMETHING BETTER.
Garrett did everything right. He trained hard, slept 8 hours, and optimized his diet. But he realized there was a blind spot – he was wearing plastic. And nowhere does that matter more than underwear.
He looked into the research – and was shocked. Polyester underwear shown to tank fertility in studies. BPA found in polyester at 40x legal limits. Chemicals proven to disrupt hormones – sitting directly on the most absorbent, sensitive skin on his body. Not good.
"I optimized everything else. Even small things - like seed oils and toxic personal care products. But I was wearing plastic underwear 16 hours a day? It didn't make sense. I wanted something better."
Garrett, Founder of Ryker Clothing
Traditional cotton underwear didn't cut it. Cotton underwear for training? No thanks - that's swamp a** waiting to happen. He wanted something he could train in. Something he could wear for hours without sweat & stink. But NOT something made of plastic.
After 10 months and 30+ samples, Ryker's 100% organic Merino wool underwear was born.

The Problem with poly
Stop marinating your boys in plastic
Most underwear is 60–90% polyester and elastane. AKA plastic. Pressed against the most sensitive skin on your body. 16 hours a day.
Here's what researchers have actually found.
MICROPLASTICS
Plastic in Men's Testicles
Researchers tested 23 human testicles.
Every single one contained microplastics. Including PET – the SAME plastic polyester is made of.
Higher plastic levels were linked to lower sperm counts.
Hu et al., 2024, Toxicological Sciences

SPERM COUNT
Polyester May Affect Sperm Count
A 1992 study tested polyester as male birth control. 14 men wore it against their testes.
All 14 dropped to ZERO sperm. Their testicles shrank.
It worked so well, researchers recommended it as contraception.
Shafik, A. (1992). Contraception, 45(5), 439–451.

ENDOCRINE DISRUPTION
Polyester Often Contains Hormone Disruptors
In 2023, a watchdog group tested activewear from brands you own.
They found BPA – a known hormone disruptor – at up to 40x the legal safety limit.
Every positive test had one thing in common: polyester + spandex. The exact blend most boxers are made of.
And BPA doesn't stay in the fabric. Lab tests show it absorbs into human skin within 24 hours.
Your boxers sit on your most sensitive skin for 16 of those.

PLASTIC SHEDDING
Polyester Sheds Microplastics Onto Your Most Sensitive Skin
Polyester doesn't just contain plastic. It sheds it.
Researchers found polyester garments release up to 400 microfibers per gram of fabric – in just 20 minutes of normal wear.
Is it really such a shock they're finding microplastics in your balls?

FIT & FEEL
Fits Like Lulu. Not your grandpa's wool.
The problem with wool underwear? You're picturing itchy, saggy, and shapeless. We didn't want that – so we built it to fit like the big brands.
1
Isn't Wool Itchy?
Itch comes from coarse fibers. This is ultrafine merino – the fiber is so fine it physically can't prickle skin. It feels closer to your softest tee than to any sweater. Most guys forget they're wearing it.
2
Isn't Wool Hot?
The opposite. Merino regulates both ways – it releases heat and wicks moisture when you're hot, and insulates when you're cold. It's what mountaineers and desert hikers both wear. Cool in July, warm in January, one pair.
3
Why Not Just Cotton?
Cotton absorbs sweat – then holds it against your skin. Damp, heavy, chafing. Swamp ass central. Merino wicks moisture away and dries fast. Cotton's fine for a tee. Down here, wicking wins.
4
Will They Sag And Stink Like Cotton?
No. Merino holds its shape wash after wash, cut athletic like the big brands. And it's naturally antimicrobial – fresh on day one. And two. And three. Cotton needs a wash after every wear. Merino doesn't.
5
Aren't These Expensive?
Per pair? Yes. Per wear? No. Merino stays fresh for multiple wears, so you need fewer pairs. There's no elastane to break down, so they outlast the drawer of cheap pairs you keep replacing. And they're covered by our Lifetime Warranty. Buy fewer. Buy once.

Actually Built For Training - Unlike Cotton.
My cotton pairs were soaked 20 minutes into a workout – and stayed soaked. These are dry through the whole session and the drive home.
Cotton absorbs sweat and holds it – wet, heavy, chafing right where you don't want it. Merino wicks it out and keeps performing even when damp. There's a reason mountaineers say "cotton kills." Train in the fiber they trust.
Made of 100% Natural Fibers - Not Plastic.

All Day Dry. No Swamp A**. Ever.
I wear them from morning workout through a full workday. End of day: still dry. I genuinely don't understand how.
Stop ending every session with swamp a*s. Merino wicks sweat & fights odor - so you stay fresh.
Not Itchy. Not Hot. Actually Regulates Temp.
I figured wool underwear would be super itchy & hot. Not the case at all. It actually keeps me cool even in Texas August heat.
Merino releases heat when you're hot and insulates when you're cold. It regulates – plastic just traps.

Insane Odor Resistance. Wear All Day. ZERO Smell.
Two full days, gym both days, zero smell. I made my wife check. She's a believer now
Bacteria causes odor – and bacteria can't feed on merino like it feeds on plastic. No smell, naturally.
Stretches Like Synthetics - Without The Synthetics
Squats, deadlifts, sitting cross-legged at my desk – they move like my old spandex pairs. Nothing digs, nothing binds.
Merino fiber has natural crimp – built-in stretch and recovery, no spandex required. Moves when you move. Snaps back.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the problem with polyester?
It's plastic — worn against the most sensitive, absorbent skin on your body for 16 hours a day. Researchers have found microplastics in every human testicle tested, BPA in activewear at up to 40x California's legal safety limit (only in polyester + spandex garments), and a 1992 study found polyester worn against the testes drove sperm counts to zero — it was literally proposed as male birth control.
Why Merino wool?
Merino wool is nature's miracle fiber. It's
Isn't wool hot?
Merino works in both directions. It moves sweat away as vapor and releases excess heat when you're warm, then insulates when you're cold — which is why it's the baselayer of choice for both desert hikers and mountaineers. Customers consistently tell us the Titans run cooler than their old polyester pairs in summer.
Isn't wool itchy?
Itch comes from thick, coarse fibers that press into skin instead of bending. We use [ultrafine XX-micron] merino, fine enough that the fibers flex against your skin. It feels like a very soft tee. The wool you're remembering from that one sweater was 2–3x coarser.
Why not just wear cotton if I want natural boxers?
Ever worn cotton for 16 hours on a hot day?
Look, cotton's great. But a 100% cotton boxer for serious training, cotton = swamp ass central.
You need gear that will actually wick sweat - and compare to the performance of your synthetics when you're hot & sweaty.
That's why Merino is the better choice.
Why is it more expensive than some other synthetic brands?
Because we don't compromise. Because we only use high quality, organic fabrics like 100% organic cotton & Merino wool, our product costs are substantially higher than big brands who sell cheap materials (polyester) at a premium price.
Additionally, we only partner with ethical manufacturers who maintain GOTS & OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certifications, pay their workers a fair wage, and maintain safe conditions for their staff.
Last thing - we're proud that we're still priced competitively to premium brands like Lululemon, Vuori, Rhone and Ten Thousand - despite using high quality, 100% natural materials.
What is OEKO-TEX Standard 100?
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 means all of our fibers, fabrics, and dyes have been 3rd party tested for a variety of toxic substances - including BPA, PFAS and other endocrine disruptors. When you wear Ryker, you can be confident you're only wearing the best.
Is your Merino superwashed?
Our Merino wool is not superwashed - and we take great pride in this. We use an innovative, GOTS compliant process that uses peroxide to descale our wool, giving it a level of machine washability.
We don't recommend ever throwing it in the dryer - but we think that's a small price to pay for a natural fiber that actually STAYS natural.
What dyes do you use?
We use water based fiber reactive dyes that comply with GOTS & OEKO-TEX Standard 100 class 1 standards.
They're independently tested for heavy metals & other toxins commonly found in the apparel industry.
Are your clothes 3rd party tested?
Yes. Not only do we rely on regular factory audits from the governing bodies of GOTS & OEKO-TEX Standard 100, but we also independently test our fabrics & end garments.
You can see our latest test here. Completely free of BPA, PFAs, and phthalates.
What size should I get / will your products shrink?
Due to the inherent nature of natural fibers, our gear shrinks ~5% in the wash.
We always recommend washing on the most gentle setting available + laying flat to dry to reduce shrinkage.
What are the care instructions? How do I wash it?
Less than any underwear you've owned. Merino is antimicrobial at the fiber level, so odor-causing bacteria can't build up the way it does on plastic. Plenty of customers get multiple wears per wash — especially traveling. (Yes, really. It's the thing reviews mention most.)
We recommend washing your Ryker boxers every 5-7 wears. Yes, really. We know it sounds crazy - but you can literally just hang them on a chair and let them air out. There will be NO sweat or smell (we promise).
What's the return policy?
We offer a 90 day return policy. As long as the garment is unused (meaning, you don't wear it several times and then decide to return), we will accept your return.
We want happy customers - not annoyed customers. So we're pretty generous here.
