Polyester is literally made of plastic. This means when you wear it & wash it, it can leach microplastics in the water supply (and your skin). It's also chock full of toxic chemicals (like BPA, bleach and formaldehyde). If you're worried about plastic and avoid things like plastic bottles and tupperware, you should avoid polyester.
